Most of what we have culturally will survive. I am hoping that one the Cultural Casualties' that go by the wayside are the average American's (the ones who don't usually pay much attention to politics) thinking that ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN or MSNBC is NOT giving them an accurate picture of what's really going on.. The trend is there, and it's increasing.

Maybe a couple thousand years from now some archeologist will find the Lord of the Rings trilogy on CD, and if they can figure out how to play them, they will be able to teach children in history classes, about Elves and the Battle for Middle Earth !

I think the things which represent the democratic and progressive values will survive. the rest will become obsolete.

 

I can’t imagine anything in today’s popular music will stand the test of time. Maybe a few movies. Books I think will always be a draw no matter the medium. I hope that future generations don’t intentionally destroy the legacies that they dislike. History demands and deserves listening to every voice no matter how vile.

Some of the more pessimistic say that the only evidence that humans were even here in thousands of years will be residual radiation and plastic. I don’t see that.
